Hi,
Some peoples related problems when run Interbase 6.5
under one DualCore processor.
I have this problem then.
In my case i have the Interbase 6.5 installed on the server (server with
DualCore processor). The client machines
load very slow, and in some machines the system don't load. My system
access interbase via BDE.
Any ideas is very welcome.
Thanks

Version of InterBase 6.5 and earlier cannot handle multiprocessor systems
running Windows because Windows will continually switch the InterBase
process from one processor to another.

Check your IBCONFIG file and check that this statement is there:

CPU_AFFINITY 1

(with no # in front).

This was designed for multi-processor, so I assume it works with multi-core,
but I'm not certain.

This problem goes away starting with IB 7.0, so upgrading to the latest
version (2007) would be the best solution. This entry for later versions can
still be used to limit processor use, but InterBase can properly take
advantage of multi-processors now.
